Keep the promise
The new Government must keep the UK's promise to spend .7% of our national income on aid by 2013.
Around the world our aid has already made an enormous difference in helping people lift themselves out of poverty, we must not turn our backs on them now.
But the Government has already frozen aid for the next two years - that is £2.2 billion less for the world's poorest people which could have protected children against disease and helped get them into school
The .7/2013 promise is simply too important for millions of people throughout the world to be broken. But we can't take it for granted that this Government will deliver it.
